If you want to improve your teeth but can’t see yourself in braces, Invisalign may be your option. You might have heard about Invisalign from your families and friends. It is now the most popular, effective, advanced alternative to braces. The biggest difference from braces is that the treatment is virtually invisible.

What Is It?
Invisalign is a series of clear aligners that are removable, comfortable, and invisible.
How Does It Work?
We use our 3D scanner to create a digital printing of your teeth before Dr. Irene builds in a specific set of coordinated prescriptions into the aligners so that each one is custom-made to move your teeth by precise increments. As you wear the aligners, you will see your teeth gradually align to reach a beautiful smile. Because the aligners are removable, eating, brushing, and flossing is easier. You will also enjoy the benefit of spending less time visiting our office.
Who Is It For?
Invisalign is an option for people of all ages: ‘Invisalign First’ for younger children, ‘Invisalign Teen’ for teens, and ‘Invisalign’ for adults. Dr. Cho will take your preferences and diagnostics into considerations, and explain what you need to know about each recommended treatment option.
Care for Invisalign
Wearing Aligners
- Aligners need to be worn at least 20 to 22 hours a day. They can only move teeth if they are worn for long enough.
- When you are not wearing aligners, keep them in your case to decrease the chance of losing them.
Eating and Drinking
There are no food restrictions when it comes to wearing aligners. Aligners need to be taken out before you eat or drink any liquids other than water.
Brushing and Flossing
We recommend that you continue brushing your teeth at least twice a day, in the morning and before bed, and flossing once a day. We also recommend that you brush your teeth after every meal before you put your aligners back. If it is not possible, rinse your teeth with water to remove traces of food particles and to prevent dry saliva and plaque from building up.
Cleaning your Invisalign Aligners
Gently brush your aligners with a soft toothbrush using a clear regular or antibacterial soap every morning and before bed. As bacteria could build on your aligners while you sleep, it is important to clean your teeth and the aligners. The use of toothpaste and/or hard toothbrush can decrease the clarity of the aligners due to their abrasive nature. You can place your aligner in a bowl of water with Invisalign cleaning crystals or a denture cleaner once a week or so. Make sure you rinse the trays before placing them back in your mouth.
